IHG appoints new global external comms manager

The hotel giant has taken on a former Direct Line Group senior manager to handle its global external comms.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has appointed Jade Trimbee as its new global external communications manager.

Trimbee officially joined IHG from Direct Line Group this month, after a decade working for the insurance provider.

“This marks a new chapter for me, and I am genuinely excited to immerse myself in the hospitality industry while continuing to develop my skills and expertise,” she said.

Her most recent role at Direct Line was senior manager corporate comms, which she held for seven years until November 2025. Prior to this she was a senior PR manager between March 2015 and January 2018.

Before joining Direct Line she was a PR and campaign planning manager at AXA (March 2014 to March 2015). She was also a senior marketing executive for AXA’s Swiftcover.com brand.

She added of her new job: “The team at IHG has already made me feel very welcome, and I look forward to contributing and collaborating with colleagues in this dynamic and fast-moving sector.”

IHG operates over 6,800 hotels and resorts worldwide, with more than one million rooms, across 19 brands in over 100 countries; and hotel brands such as Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, the Vignette collection and Regent Hotels.

The body has groups and affiliates in the UK, across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Central America, Australia and Asia.

Away from her day job Trimbee is also head of events for Global Women in PR, an umbrella organisation linking independent networking groups of senior women working in the global PR industry. She has held the role since February 2025.
