Aviation regulator announces two senior comms appointments

Vicky Steadman and Zoe Kindler join the organisation to ‘strengthen’ its comms team.

Two senior comms professionals have joined the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), in a move that demonstrates the organisation’s focus on strengthening its comms function.

Vicky Steadman has been appointed head of internal communications and engagement delivery, while Zoe Kindler joins the organisation as head of communications delivery.

Steadman will lead the transformation of internal communications across the organisation, ensuring colleagues are informed, engaged and connected to the Civil Aviation Authority’s purpose and priorities.

She has previously held key comms roles at British Airways and Barclays, where she supported large, complex workforces through operational change and transformation.

Kindler will be responsible for the delivery of external communications, with a focus on strengthening the regulator’s media output and external messaging. Her role will include delivering impactful communications campaigns and maintaining a strong, user-focused approach to the CAA’s digital channels, including its website.

She brings with her experience from her role as associate director of communications at qualifications, examinations and assessments regulator Ofqual, where she led high-profile communications in a complex and scrutinised environment.

Andrew McConnell, deputy director for communications and engagement at the CAA, said: “These appointments reflect our ambition to strengthen how we communicate, both internally and externally. Vicky’s leadership will help ensure our people are informed, engaged and aligned with our purpose and mission, while Zoe’s expertise will enhance how we deliver communications, build strong media relationships and run impactful campaigns. Together, these roles further strengthen our award-winning communications and engagement team.”
